2019 Green Ninja Film Festival
The Green Ninja Film Festival (GNFF) encourages young adults to create films about environmental solutions. Entry into the film festival requires a short film accompanied by a digital portfolio that includes justification of the underlying science in the film as well as audience analysis. These elements help provide focus on school-based science while also giving students the full freedom to use their imaginations to design the types of films they think will be impactful to their audiences. In Green Ninja's Scientific Storytelling unit, students learn that communicating science is an important part of being a good scientist or engineer.
A panel of judges selects the films to screen at the GNFF, and prizes are awarded for the films that are selected for public screening. Classrooms and schools are encouraged to host their own film festivals so that students' films can be publicly screened for parents and friends of the students. If you'd like access to Green Ninja's Scientific Storytelling unit to view lessons to participate, please contact us at info@greenninja.org.
