Summer 2020 Updates

This summer, the Green Ninja team worked hard on making improvements to the curriculum and curating our curriculum for remote learning. We’ve released updates to our classroom program and are excited to share them with you.

Overview of Updates

  • New Remote Learning Program

  • Improvements to the Curriculum

New Remote Learning Program

Online versions of the first two units of each grade are ready for synchronous or asynchronous instruction. An overview of our online program and instructions on getting started is available in the Unit Resources section of each unit. The online content can be accessed through any lesson page by going to the Online Teaching section.

Check out the video for an introduction to our remote learning program.

The first chapter of each remote learning unit is available for anyone to access through our free guest account! If you would like access to other chapters, you can inquire about purchasing a license by contacting info@greenninja.org.

Improvements to the Curriculum

Unit Concept Checkpoints

Inspired by teacher feedback, we have created additional formative assessment opportunities (i.e., Unit Concept Checkpoints) that help teachers assess their students' understanding of the primary science topics within the unit.

Culminating Experience Teacher Guides

We have included a teacher guide for the culminating experience or project at the end of each unit. The guide gives an overview of the project, how students are assessed, and examples of student work. The Teacher Guides can be found in the first lesson of the culminating experience sequence and in the Unit Resources section of each unit.

Updated Unit Storylines

The storyline and theme behind each unit of instruction is an important part of what makes Green Ninja's science program unique. To help teachers better understand the storyline and see the connections with each sequences of lessons, we have updated our storyline graphic as seen on the right.
